Villa Mary-romantic place near Chianti production
VillaDescription
10 Guests
5 bedrooms
4 bathrooms
Villa Mary is located on a hill in the surroundings of Florence, is a medieval farmhouse: the building was in poor conditions in the late Fifties, when it was bought by an italian-dutch young couple, who decided to settle down here. The house was totally renovated to welcome family members and many guests and friends from all over the world who used to visit them. A recent restoration has given its original atmosphere to the villa: bright spaces and cozy rooms.
It offers a night area at first floor with 5 bedrooms (3 double and 2 twin) and 3 bathrooms + 1 guest bathroom.
Two of the double bedrooms are comunicating each with a twin bedroom and have an ensuite bathroom. The third double bedroom with ceiling’s beams is served by the huge bathroom with tub and shower.
There are 2 living rooms, both with fireplace, one of them is really a typical big country fireplace with sit in space, ideal for cooking chestnuts during the autumn.
The large dining room with garden views is connected with the other living room – the perfect location to rest a bit after lunch.
The cozy fully equipped kitchen faces a wide paved outdoor space which is an ideal playground for children or a dance floor for adults, it gives access to the dining table, the olive tree field and garden. Next to this space there is a meadow with pool and deck chairs. It is the perfect place to rest after a day spent visiting the beauties of nearby Florence.
Car park inside the property, gate width 2,30 m.
We can give you a lot of suggestions and recommendations about what to visit and where to go from monuments and restaurants to sports centers near to the house, like tennis club or the Ugolinogolf course.
The Tuscany region:
Just 20 minutes from Florence, Villa Mary offers hospitality in the wine region of Chianti.
Here, away from the sounds of the city among the medieval villages of the hills, vineyards and olive groves, you will find peace and relaxation while your imagination drifts to an ancient Tuscany when villages such as San Gimignano, Radda in Chianti, Panzano in Chianti were built.
Chianti is famous for its wine and the best way to taste it is to visit the cellars with a group of good friends and to listen to the stories about the way this particular type of wine is produced. You can ask Guido Sommelier, who is a reliable guide/driver and he will be happy to arrange a tour to the cellars.
Otherwise, you can also go there with your own car, the farms and cellars allow guests to try their products, to buy wine, oil and local products. So be sure you have space in your car to take some yummy things with you.
If you are the countryside and beautiful landscapes lover, you can stroll on the little roads leading through cypress alleys and hills to Greve, Radda, Gaiole, Panzano, Castellina, Montefioralle, Volpaia, Passignano Abbey, or you can go mountain biking through this charming medieval village.
If on the other hand you want to experience the cultural side and the night life, it will be nice to visit Florence- the heart of the Renaissance, with its museums, Cathedral, art galleries, bars, restaurants and great shopping areas.
Florence is not the only fabulous Tuscan city that it is close by: Siena, with its wonderful “Piazza del Campo” and the major event- the “Palio di Siena”, San Gimignano with its medieval towers and Pisa with the renowned leaning tower, Lucca, Volterra, Montepulciano, Pienza are all easily reachable.
